What is loose – leaf visa?
Loose-leaf visa is considered the most traditional and long-standing visa Vietnam ever. Loose leaf visa, or paper visa, is a visa issued separately from the passport in case the passport holder, for any reason, fails to submit the original passport, then a copy of the passport will be needed instead. This kind of visa is not applied to every applicant but only for some specific situations.

What is the condition of being granted loose – leaf visa Vietnam?
Applicants eligible for the loose-leaf visa:
- The holder of a valid passport running out of the blank page for a visa sticker.
- The holder of a passport issued by a country that has not yet to establish diplomatic/consular relations with Viet Nam.
- The holder of a valid international travel document.
- For diplomatic, national defense, and security purposes.
What is the validity of loose – leaf visa?
Notice: With the expired visa, the foreigners who wish to continue residing in Vietnam must apply for a new visa:
- It is valid for 15 days to be granted to applicants who enter Vietnam without any sponsorship of agency, organization or individual in Vietnam or who enter with Vietnam visa exemption.
- Single or multiple visas with a validity of no more than 6 months, issued for foreigners who are invited to enter Vietnam by agencies, organizations, and individuals.
- Single or multiple visas with a validity of no more than 12 months, granted to foreigners executing projects in Vietnam who comply with investment licenses or cooperation contracts with Vietnamese agencies or organizations; to expats who work in foreign companies located in Vietnam and to relatives of the foreigners.
